AfriSam (South Africa)
AfriSam is the leading black-controlled construction materials group in southern Africa, with operations in South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho and Swaziland. The company has a total annual cement production capacity of 5.8 million tons (including a 1.2 million annual cement production capacity from its Tanga Operation in Tanzania), produced from six production facilities and distributed to customers through strategically-located cement depots.

AfriSam’s readymix operation can produce almost any concrete mix required by customers from any one of its 40 readymix concrete plants across the region. The company has the capacity to produce in excess of ten million tons of aggregate from 16 quarries and aggregate operations every year. Its Slagment business, has produced Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slagment over the last 50 years for the construction of major structures, including buildings, dams, bridges, roads and water retaining structures.

Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange
The Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) was incorporated in September 1996 as a private company limited by guarantee and not having a share capital under the Companies Ordinance (Cap. 212). The DSE is therefore a non-profit making body created to facilitate the Government implementation of the economic reforms and in future to encourage the wider share ownership of privatized and all the companies in Tanzania and facilitate raising of medium and log-term capital.
