NBAA BEST PRESENTED FINANCIAL STATEMENTS

Tanzania adopted International Accounting Standards/Internal Financial Standards (IFS/ISA) and auditing standards in 2004. In order to encourage compliance with international and local accounting standards, the Board have been conducting voluntary best presented financial statements competition to all entities in Tanzania.

In evaluating financial statements the Board is using competent assessors who are drawn from various regulatory authorities and academic institutions.

The Board believes that the whole process of selecting winners is done independently and professionally. Winners are grouped into categories of similar industry, Tanga Cement PLC falls under manufacturing category.

For the two consecutive years, Tanga Cement PLC emerged as an overall winner of the NBAA awards for the year 2015 and 2016. Speaking during the award ceremony Tanga Cement PLC Chief Financial Officer Pieter de Jager said; “Quality is among our strongest pillar in our daily operations. We put quality above the rest. In everything that we do. This creates the much-needed trust when we want to conduct business with local and international investors,”

• In 2015 – Tanga Cement PLC received an Award as overall winner for Best Presented Financial Statements from the National Board of Accountants and Auditors.

• In 2013 – Tanga Cement PLC received an Award as overall winner for Best Presented Financial Statements from the National Board of Accountants and Auditors.

• In 2012 – Tanga Cement PLC received an Award as first winner for Best Presented Financial Statements from the National Board of Accountants and Auditors on manufacturing category.

• In 2011 – Tanga Cement PLC received an Award as first winner for Best Presented Financial Statements from the National Board of Accountants and Auditors on manufacturing category.

• In 2010 – Tanga Cement PLC received an Award as first winner for Best Presented Financial Statements from the National Board of Accountants and Auditors on manufacturing category.
